What Operating Conditions Are CAH/CHH Heavy-Duty Slurry Pumps Suitable for? How to Select the Right Model?
CAH/CHH heavy-duty slurry pumps are mainly used to transport slurries with strong abrasiveness, high solid content, or large particles. Depending on actual operating conditions, they can be applied in mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, tailings, sand and gravel, and other industrial slurry handling systems.
"Heavy-duty" should not merely be a promotional buzzword, but should reflect specific structures, materials, performance ranges, and operating conditions. Key factors to confirm during model selection include: normal and maximum flow rates; required head; slurry density; solid content; maximum particle size; particle shape and hardness; medium temperature; pH value and corrosiveness; pipe length and diameter; and daily continuous operating hours.
The harder, larger, and sharper the particles, the more severe the wear and impact typically experienced by the impeller, casing, liners, and other wet-end components. Therefore, materials should be selected based on the specific slurry characteristics, rather than merely comparing material hardness.
The choice between CAH and CHH also requires reference to the corresponding performance curves, required duty points, motor power, and operating range. If a project involves high head, long-distance pumping, or series operation, a dedicated system calculation should be conducted rather than judging based solely on model designations.
