Common Causes of Overheating, Vibration, and Noise in Industrial Pump Bearings
Bearings are used to support the pump shaft and rotating components, and their condition directly affects the vibration, noise, temperature rise, and operational stability of industrial pumps.
Bearing overheating does not necessarily indicate that the bearing itself is damaged; it may also be related to lubrication, installation, alignment, pump shaft load, or operating conditions.
If there is a sudden change in bearing temperature, vibration, or noise, the pump should first be shut down for inspection in accordance with safety requirements. It is not recommended to simply replenish lubricant and continue operation.
Bearings with the same external dimensions do not necessarily have the same clearance, precision, and load-carrying capacity, so they should not be replaced based solely on size. In routine maintenance, it is recommended to record bearing temperature, vibration, noise, lubrication intervals, and replacement dates to identify trends and develop a reasonable maintenance plan.
