What Are the Differences Between SAG Mill Liners and Ball Mill Liners?

Both SAG mill liners and ball mill liners are used to protect the mill shell and influence the movement of internal materials and grinding media. However, because the feed materials, grinding media, impact, and wear conditions of the two mill types can differ, liners cannot be selected based solely on mill diameter.

SAG mills typically handle a mixture composed of ore, grinding media, and slurry. The liners must withstand the impact, wear, and cyclic loads generated by both the ore and the grinding media.

Ball mills primarily utilize grinding media to further grind materials. The lifter bars, liner profiles, and arrangement of the liners affect the motion state of the grinding media as well as mill operation.

Rubber liners, metal liners, and composite liners are suitable for different impact, wear, and temperature conditions. Whether to use rubber or rubber composite structures should be confirmed in combination with the mill's operating conditions and technical design.

SAG mill liners and ball mill liners should not be interchanged directly. The final structure, material, and arrangement should be subject to the technical evaluation of the corresponding mill and operating conditions.

FAQ
Here, we answer your frequently asked questions about customization, material selection, and purchasing industrial rubber and wear-resistant components.
Contact Us
How to request a quote for the rubber product series?
Please provide product name, equipment model, installation dimensions, media name, particle properties, temperature/pressure, operating mode, quantity, photos or drawings of worn parts, and delivery destination. We will provide product matching and quotation proposals based on your operating conditions. Specific parameters including rubber material, aperture pattern, liner structure, valve pressure rating, belt dimensions, and operating temperatures are subject to confirmed technical documentation.
Can rubber products be customized according to drawings or samples?
Yes. Customers can provide equipment models, installation dimensions, photos of worn parts, part numbers, drawings, or physical samples for us to evaluate replacement or custom solutions for mill liners, screens, valves, and filter belts.
Can rubber products handle high-wear or corrosive conditions?
Yes. Materials for liners, screen panels, valve sleeves, and filter belts can be evaluated and configured based on media properties, particle hardness, sand content, temperature, pressure, and operating time.
How to select SAG mill liners, ball mill liners, and other rubber products?
Selection depends on equipment model, installation dimensions, handled media, particle size, wear conditions, temperature, pressure, and operating mode. SAG mill liners focus on impact and wear, while ball mill liners must also match grinding media and operating structures.
Which industries are rubber products mainly used in?
Products are mainly used in mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, aggregates, chemical processing, tailings handling, material screening, and solid-liquid separation.
What products are included in the rubber product series?
The rubber product series includes SAG mill liners, ball mill liners, vibrating screen panels, knife gate valves, pinch valves, and vacuum belt filter belts.
