What is the difference between CAF series froth pumps and ordinary slurry pumps?

CAF series froth pumps are mainly used to handle slurries containing froth, bubbles, or high air content, commonly found in certain flotation, mineral processing, and industrial froth slurry handling stages.

Ordinary slurry pumps are primarily designed for slurries composed of liquid and solid particles. When the medium contains a significant amount of air, the pump's suction conditions, actual delivery capacity, and operating stability may be affected. Air entering the pump casing can cause flow fluctuations, discontinuous delivery, or reduced efficiency.

The main task of a froth pump is to improve the conditions under which aerated slurry enters and exits the pump casing. During actual pump selection, in addition to flow rate, head, particle size, and solid content, the following should also be confirmed: the process stage where froth is generated; froth volume and stability; gas entrainment level in the slurry; liquid level variation range; medium density; maximum particle size; normal and peak flow rates; daily operating hours; and discharge pipeline conditions.

The apparent volume of frothy slurry may be large, but because it contains air, the pump model cannot be selected simply based on ordinary liquid flow rates. An evaluation should be made combining the actual process flow rate, froth characteristics, and pump operating conditions.

Can metal slurry pumps be customized, and are spare parts available?
Yes. Pumps can be configured based on flow rate, head, mounting type, seal type, drive configuration, and materials. Replacement parts such as impellers, casings, liners, shaft sleeves, seals, and bearings are available. Please provide pump models, part numbers, drawings, photos, or nameplate details when inquiring.
Can metal slurry pumps handle highly abrasive slurries?
Yes. Wet-end parts like impellers, casings, and liners can be configured with wear-resistant alloys based on particle size, hardness, solid content, density, and operating hours. Specific materials depend on operating conditions.
How to select metal slurry pump specifications?
Sizing requires flow rate, head, slurry type, solid content, particle size, density, temperature, suction conditions, installation method, submergence depth, and operating hours.
How to choose between CSP, CAH/CHH, CAF, and CZQ?
CSP vertical pumps suit sump or pit installations; CAH/CHH heavy-duty pumps handle high-density, highly abrasive slurries; CAF froth pumps handle frothy flotation slurries; CZQ submersible pumps suit underwater/submerged operations. Specific models must be confirmed based on operating parameters.
What applications are metal slurry pumps suitable for?
They are primarily used to transport ore pulp, tailings, mortar, sediment, and other solid-bearing slurries in mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, dredging, gravel handling, and industrial slag disposal.
What products are included in the metal slurry pump series?
The series includes CSP vertical sump pumps, CAH/CHH heavy-duty slurry pumps, CAF froth pumps, and CZQ submersible slurry pumps, covering various installation types, media, and operating conditions.
