How to Reduce Wear on Impellers, Volute Liners, and Front/Rear Liners?

Impellers, volute liners, and front/rear liners directly contact particle-bearing slurry and are common wear parts in slurry pumps. Their service life depends not only on materials, but also on the pump's operating point, particle conditions, assembly clearances, and piping system.

To reduce wear, focus on the following aspects:

First, select suitable materials based on the medium. Confirm particle hardness, max particle size, shape, solid content, slurry density, temperature, pH value, and corrosiveness. If the medium contains large or sharp particles, also consider the material's impact resistance.

Second, maintain operation within a reasonable working range. Prolonged low flow, insufficient suction, pipe clogging, slurry concentration changes, or mismatched pump speeds can cause internal recirculation, localized erosion, and uneven wear.

Third, check the clearance between the impeller and front/rear liners. Abnormal clearance may lead to lower efficiency, increased backflow, friction, or localized wear. Refer to technical documentation for specific adjustment methods and allowable ranges.

Daily maintenance logging recommendations: actual flow rate and discharge pressure; motor current; vibration and noise; slurry concentration and particle changes; operating hours; part replacement dates; old part wear locations and photos; impeller-to-liner clearance; localized thinning of the volute liner.
