How to Match Flow Rate, Head, and Discharge Pipeline for CG/CGH Gravel Pumps?

The actual delivery performance of the CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pump depends not only on the pump itself, but also on the matching relationship between flow rate, head, pipe diameter, and gravel media.

The flow rate should be determined based on the volume of material to be transported for the project, the size of the sump or operating area, and the allowable completion time. It is recommended to provide both normal and peak flow rates to prevent the pump from operating outside its optimal working range for extended periods.

The total dynamic head typically includes: vertical lift height; friction losses caused by horizontal piping; localized losses from elbows, valves, and reducers; pressure requirements at the discharge point; and the effects of slurry density and solid content.

A larger discharge pipe diameter is not always better. A pipe diameter that is too small increases flow velocity and pipeline resistance, accelerating wear on pipe walls and elbows; conversely, an excessively large pipe diameter may result in insufficient velocity, causing sand and gravel to settle in the pipeline and increasing the risk of pipe blockage.

The pump, pipeline, and media should be evaluated as an integrated system. Sizing based solely on existing pipe diameters or pump discharge dimensions may result in insufficient flow, premature wear, or pipeline sedimentation.

What are the common spare parts for CG/CGH gravel pumps?
Common spare parts include impellers, pump casings, liners, shaft sleeves, seal components, and bearing assemblies. Customers can provide pump models, part numbers, drawings, dimensions, or photos for replacement confirmation. Specific flow rates, heads, maximum particle sizes, materials, and motor power should be verified against confirmed CG/CGH technical documentation. The FAQ structure above covers applications, operating conditions, selection, customization, and spare parts.
Can CG/CGH gravel pumps be customized?
Yes. We provide tailored selection and configuration based on flow rate, head, media characteristics, particle size, wet-end materials, drive types, inlet/outlet orientations, and installation conditions.
Are CG/CGH gravel pumps suitable for large-particle media?
Yes. Designed for media with gravel and large solids, this series provides high particle-passage capability. The exact maximum particle size depends on the specific model and technical specifications.
How to select the right specifications for a CG/CGH gravel pump?
Selection requires parameters including flow rate, head, transport distance, discharge elevation, slurry concentration, maximum particle size, pipe dimensions, suction conditions, and operating hours.
What media can CG/CGH gravel pumps transport?
This series can handle gravel, mineral sand, mud, river sediments, and other slurries with solid particles. Specific suitability must be confirmed based on particle size, concentration, density, and abrasiveness.
What applications are CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pumps suitable for?
CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pumps are mainly used for river sand dredging, gravel transport, mine tailings discharge, dredging projects, and handling slurries containing large solid particles.
