How to Reduce Wear on CG/CGH Heavy-Duty Gravel Pumps?

When CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pumps continuously transport slurry containing sand, gravel, or other abrasive particles, wear can occur on the impeller, casing, liners, shaft sleeve, seals, and discharge piping. Reducing wear requires a comprehensive approach considering material selection, operating point, piping layout, and maintenance.

First, the material of the wet-end parts should be selected based on particle hardness, size, shape, solids concentration, temperature, and corrosiveness. Material hardness is not the only indicator. If the medium contains large particles with high impact force, the impact resistance of the material must also be taken into account.

Second, the pump should be kept operating within a reasonable working range. Prolonged low-flow operation, insufficient suction conditions, pipeline blockages, improper valve regulation, or significant fluctuations in slurry concentration can all lead to localized erosion, vibration, and uneven wear on wet-end components.

Piping layout also impacts wear rates. Unnecessary sharp bends and abrupt diameter transitions should be minimized, and an appropriate pipe diameter should be selected according to medium conditions. Elbows, reducers, and high-velocity zones typically require prioritized inspection.

If abnormal wear occurs repeatedly at a specific location, simply replacing parts is not enough; you should also check whether the operating point, piping layout, particle conditions, and installation status have changed.

What are the common spare parts for CG/CGH gravel pumps?
Common spare parts include impellers, pump casings, liners, shaft sleeves, seals, and bearing assemblies. Customers can provide the pump model, part number, drawings, dimensions, or photos to identify replacements. For specific flow rate, head, maximum particle size, materials, and matched power, please refer to the confirmed CG/CGH technical documentation. The FAQ above is structured by application, operating conditions, selection, customization, and spare parts.
Can CG/CGH gravel pumps be customized?
Yes. We can customize selections and configurations based on flow rate, head, media properties, particle size, wet-end materials, drive types, nozzle orientations, and installation conditions.
Are CG/CGH gravel pumps suitable for large-particle media?
Designed for media containing gravel and large solids, this series provides strong particle-passing capability. The actual maximum particle size depends on the specific model and technical specifications.
How to select CG/CGH gravel pump specifications?
Selection requires flow rate, head, transport distance, discharge height, slurry concentration, maximum particle size, pipe dimensions, suction conditions, and operating hours.
What media can CG/CGH gravel pumps handle?
This series transports gravel, mineral sand, slurry, river sediments, and other solids-bearing slurries. Specific suitability depends on particle size, concentration, density, and abrasiveness.
What applications are CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pumps suitable for?
CG/CGH heavy-duty gravel pumps are primarily used for river sand mining, gravel transport, mine tailings discharge, dredging, and other transport duties involving large solid particles.
