Should the Impeller and Casing Be Made of Metal, Rubber, or Ceramic Materials?

The impeller and casing can be made of metal, rubber lining, ceramic, or other validated materials depending on the product structure and the pumped medium. No single material is suitable for all slurry operating conditions.

Metal wet-end parts are typically suitable for operating conditions with larger particles, high impact, elevated temperatures, or sharp particles. However, different metal materials vary in their wear resistance, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance, so selection should not be based solely on material hardness.

Rubber wet-end parts or rubber linings are generally suitable for a certain range of fine-particle abrasive slurries and, depending on the specific rubber compound, can also be used with some corrosive media. During selection, it is crucial to verify temperature, oil content, chemical compatibility, and particle sharpness.

Ceramic materials usually feature high hardness and can be used in highly abrasive, fine-particle applications following technical evaluation. However, if the medium contains large particles, tramp metal, or severe impact, it is necessary to verify whether ceramic materials and the product structure are suitable.

Material selection should be comprehensively evaluated based on abrasion, impact, corrosion, and temperature, rather than placing orders solely under the generic description of "wear-resistant material."

How to request a quote for pump parts from Senchuan?
Please provide the part name, OEM model, part number, installation dimensions, medium parameters, quantity, photos or drawings, and delivery destination.
How to select wear-resistant materials for impellers and casings?
Selection requires comprehensive evaluation of particle size, hardness, solid content, flow rate, temperature, and corrosiveness, rather than just the pump name.
Can materials be customized for impellers and casings?
Yes. Suitable material solutions can be evaluated based on slurry concentration, particle size, wear severity, temperature, and corrosiveness.
Can replacement parts be produced based on samples?
Yes. Impellers and casings can be evaluated based on physical samples, drawings, or dimension data, and scheduled for production upon confirmation.
How to confirm the model of impellers and casings?
Please provide the OEM brand, pump type, model, part number, drawings, dimensions, photos, and medium details for technical verification.
Can impellers or casings be purchased separately?
Yes. Impellers, casings, or matching parts can be purchased separately based on maintenance and replacement needs.
Which industrial pumps are impellers and casings suitable for?
Mainly for slurry pumps, gravel pumps, dredge pumps, submersible slurry pumps, froth pumps, and other slurry transport equipment.
What products are mainly included in the pump parts series?
The series mainly includes impellers and casings. Liners, shaft sleeves, seals, and other wear parts can also be evaluated based on the pump model.
