What Should Be Considered When Selecting a CMCR Mill Underflow Pump?

CMCR mill underflow pumps are primarily used for slurry transport in grinding circuits. Grinding operations are typically characterized by continuous running, fluctuations in slurry concentration, and particle abrasion; therefore, selection should not rely solely on the pump port size or motor power.

First, the slurry conditions must be confirmed, including solid content, density, maximum particle size, particle hardness, and temperature. As mill operating conditions change, slurry concentration and flow rates may also fluctuate, so it is recommended to provide both normal operating conditions and potential maximum operating conditions.

Second, system parameters must be verified, including: normal flow rate and maximum flow rate; required head; pipe length and diameter; number of elbows and valves; discharge terminal pressure; daily operating hours; and whether a standby pump is required.

If the pump needs to feed cyclones, classifying equipment, or other devices with specific inlet pressure requirements, the target pressure and system layout details should also be provided.

For continuously operating grinding circuits, wear parts and standby plans are equally important. During procurement, it is advisable to confirm the supply scope for impellers, pump casings, wear plates, rubber linings, shaft sleeves, and seals, and to establish a spare parts inventory plan based on actual wear rates.

The final CMCR model, rubber material selection, and motor configuration should be determined based on actual operating conditions and performance curves.

What are the common spare parts for rubber slurry pumps?
Common spare parts include impellers, rubber liners, casings, throatbushes, shaft sleeves, seal parts, and bearing assemblies. Replacement parts should be confirmed by pump type, model, part number, or drawing.
Can rubber slurry pumps be customized?
Yes. They can be configured or customized based on flow rate, head, rubber lining material, sealing method, drive arrangement, discharge orientation, and site installation requirements.
What are the differences between CLR, CMR, CMCR, CSPR, and CAHR?
Different models target specific installations and duties: CLR, CMR: light-abrasion slurry transport. CMCR: mill underflow and dedicated slurry duties. CSPR: submerged sump or pit slurry transfer. CAHR: rubber-lined centrifugal pumping applications.
How to select the right rubber slurry pump?
Pump selection requires flow rate, head, slurry type, solids concentration, particle size, slurry density, temperature, pH value, suction conditions, and operating hours.
What is the function of rubber lining?
Rubber lining reduces wear and corrosion from slurries on pump casings and wet ends, making it ideal for fine-particle and moderate-temperature applications. Material grades and lining designs depend on slurry concentration, particle size, temperature, and corrosiveness.
What applications are rubber slurry pumps suitable for?
Rubber slurry pumps primarily transport slurries, tailings, mortars, and other solid-bearing fluids across mining, mineral processing, grinding, tailings disposal, and industrial conveyance applications.
